Ahh . . . the endless quest for that hard to find food seasoner.

One would think that after almost four years of endless searching, Brandon Bortz, the undisputed leader and lead vocalist of the rock band, Droppin' Trou, would have found the elusive salt. But to no avail.

What's more, this celebrated group of pedestrians that rock every club they entertain is also searching for something else…the perfect gig. Many bands fade into the sunset after a year or two, but the motivation that drives this Eastern Pennsylvania rock band is simply the desire for the perfect show. "We strive for perfection knowing full well that we probably won't attain it" claims the bands rhythm guitar player and background vocalist, Pete Mueller. There are a few things this band does very well, however. "We have been known to crush a few ear drums along the way", exclaims lead guitarist Duane Fox.

The genesis of Droppin' Trou is long and twisted. Cutting to the chase, Bortz started getting the attention in the music scene with his efforts in Citation 5503 (1997 – 2000) and then with Aggression? (2002 – 2006) where he teamed up with Steve Harkins (guitar), Dennis Foberg (drums) and a man named Jesus (bass). Later, Aggression? became Curb Shot and eventually disbanded.

Bortz paged through a musicians listing at a local music store and came across a band looking for a lead singer. It was here that he met Fox whose musical traits could be found in several bands of his own.

The years 1995 and 1996 found Fox jamming with Mueller in a group called Slug Bash and later Bash. As this band never really got off the ground, Fox, drummer Dan Beisel and Mueller joined forces with Mueller's brother Matt and brother in-law Andy Frey to form the successful band The Crisis (1997-2002). Primarily a central New Jersey cover band, The Crisis is where the Mueller brothers and Fox really cut their teeth in the music industry. When Frey and Beisel eventually stepped down, the additions of singer Jeff Hebbe and drummer Chris Volpe kept the train rolling under the new name of Stage Fright which later changed to Neon Fixx (2003-2005).

After two years, the band went on hiatus and that is where Fox met up with Bortz and Foberg to begin a different musical pursuit. After a year of jamming, Fox reached out to the Mueller brothers to join forces with Bortz and Foberg in a new musical venture, Droppin' Trou. According to bassist Matt Mueller, "The idea from the get-go was to simply create a good time party cover band in the Eastern, PA and Central, NJ areas." Further, Bortz brought in long-time friend and guitarist Steve Harkins to become the band's audio engineer. This key addition dramatically enhanced DT's sound. The band began rehearsing in 2007 and played their first gig in 2008 at Foulkers in New Tripoli, PA. The reaction was favorable and a following soon established.

In August of 2009, Foberg left the band and was replaced by Colin Hooker-Haring in October of that year. Bringing a new energy to the band, Hooker-Haring helped Droppin' Trou reach new heights of popularity. Currently one of the premiere cover bands in the Lehigh Valley area, Droppin' Trou continues to deliver night after night after night.

From the crazy ramblings of Brandon Bortz and his trademark "unicorn" call out, the uptempo variety of their music and the persistant search for the fuc#%ing salt, Droppin' Trou are a sight to behold. Searching for a truly fun night? Look no further than a Droppin' Trou show. And who knows. You may witness perfection, Droppin' Trou style. It will literally blow you away.
